I am linking up with Flying into First Grade for her Let’s Get Acquainted Linky Party. This week’s theme is tic-tac-toe. Pick three in a row to make tic-tac-toe.
I am doing the last column on the right.
Dream Vacation: I would love to take a leisurely cross country road trip with my family. My kids are still fairly young, so this is more of a far-off dream vacation. In the near future, I would love to take a Disneyland and California vacation. I grew up in Southern California, so it would be fun to revisit some of the places that bring back old memories… Disneyland, the beach, Sea World, the beach again. Sounds like fun to me.
Books I’m Reading: I usually have several going at once. Right now I am indulging in a romance novel on my Kindle Fire. (I LOVE my Kindle Fire!) Before the end of the summer, I want to read The Essential 55: An Award-Winning Educator’s Rules for Discovering the Successful Student in Every Child by Ron Clark. I also want to read Creating Robust Vocabularyby Isabel Beck. I am looking for ways to boost vocabulary with my sixth-grade students.
Hobbies: Well, my newest hobby is definitely blogging. Other hobbies include gardening and crafting. I’m not particularly good at gardening. I like flowers and get very ambitious in the spring. Then, when it gets hot, I tend to lose interest in going out in the heat to water, prune, and weed. This year I only planted a few flowers in containers on our patio.
For crafting, I could get lost in a craft store. When I was growing up, my mother sold crafts at shows. I loved seeing all of the creative ideas. This was back in the days before Michaels and pre-packaged craft kits. I don’t very often have time for crafting. When I do crafts, it is usually a project with my children. They really enjoy doing crafts, and it is something fun we can do together.
I have a whole Pinterest board filled with craft ideas for kids.
